February 2021 - Only Time Will Tell
I hope you all enjoyed our December book, Christmas on the Island! I found it to be a light, interesting read for the busy holiday season.
This month, we've opted for a wonderful book by Jeffrey Archer. It's not a new release (2011), however it's the first book in The Clifton Chronicles that can be read as a stand alone. It's not necessary to read the whole series, but you may just find that you can't resist devouring the rest of the books!
Thank you to all who joined our last meeting on Zoom! I am waiting to see how the month unfolds before making a decision about having book club in person at the store. Keep an eye out for an email update!
Please find below the information for this month's book.

Book: Only Time Will Tell by Jeffrey Archer
The first novel in the Clifton Chronicles, an ambitious new series that tells the story of a family across generations and oceans, from heartbreak to triumph.
The epic tale of Harry Clifton's life begins in 1920, with the words "I was told that my father was killed in the war." A dock worker in Bristol, Harry never knew his father and expects to continue on at the shipyard, until a remarkable gift wins him a scholarship to an exclusive boys' school, and his life will never be the same again...
As Harry enters into adulthood, he finally learns how his father really died, but the awful truth only leads him to question: Was he even his father? Is he the son of Arthur Clifton, a stevedore, or the firstborn son of a scion of West Country society, whose family owns a shipping line? From the ravages of the Great War and the docks of working-class England to the streets of 1940 New York City and the outbreak of the Second World War, this is a powerful journey that will bring to life one hundred years of history to reveal a family story that neither the reader nor Harry Clifton himself could ever have imagined.
This book is available on Amazon, Kindle, Barnes and Noble and from our online store.
If you can’t make a book club meeting that’s fine. There’s always next month!
If you are planning to attend, please R.S.V.P to info@lavenderhilldesigns.com or (843) 352-7042.
I hope everyone stays well and heathy until our next meeting. Keep social distancing and washing those hands!
